Two were killed in a car crash on I-295 southbound near Dunn Avenue, on Friday night.
The crash took place around 9:30 p.m., when two vehicles, a Ford SUV and a Mazda sedan, were headed south on I-295 south of Dunn Avenue and an SUV crashed with the left side of a Mazda, then traveled onto the west shoulder of the highway and throughout the grass before striking a large tree with its left side.
Jacksonville Fire And Rescue Department reported that 4 people were trapped in the vehicles.
A 37-year-old driver and a 5-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy had serious injuries.
The driver of the Mazda was not injured.
Florida Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
