Two dead after plane crash in Seneca County, Ohio

Two people were killed following a plane crash in Seneca County, Ohio on Tuesday night.

The crash took place at 10:47 p.m. about two miles east of Fostoria.

Officials were notified of the possible plane crash, after which the officers searched and discovered the scene in a wooded area north of Crestview Drive.

They found two people dead.

The pilot was a 59-year-old identified as Shane Alan Halbrook, of Avon.

The co-pilot was a 51-year-old identified as Michael D. Wright, of Casey.

The plane was a Piper Saratoga single-engine plane.

Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
