General Motors extends suspension in Russia

David BondGeneral Motors3 years ago13 Views

General Motors said on Tuesday it was extending its suspension of business in Russia because of the ongoing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine and international sanctions.

The automaker had initially suspended imports into Russia and commercial activity by February 28.

On Tuesday, it said it is laying off most of its 66 workers and providing them with separation packages.

GM does not have plants in the country and only sold about 3,000 vehicles yearly before the suspension.
