A V6-Powered Ferrari Next?

Eco-friendly cars are the latest in thing tight now given the global warming and other similar scare that hounds the world over. Ferrari too has followed the same path and are coming out with an engine that is smaller than the V8, something that has been acknowledged by their boss Luca di Montezemolo while adding that six-cylinder engines has been a part of Ferrari in the past.

Engineers from Ferrari are also working on a V12 hybrid which had been shown in March at the Geneva Motor Show and previewed by HY-KERS Vettura Laboratorio. However the V8 models would not be a hybrid. Rather they may take the ‘turbocharge’ route which would in turn produce better consumption rates and lower emissions. Montezemolo confirmed this while adding that he hoped F1 to become an advanced research center. “We’re hoping that F1 can become an advanced research centre again to develop new technology to help with fuel consumption, downforce and new materials,” Luca di Montezemolo further added.
