Two killed after head-on car crash in Georgia

Two people were killed after a head-on car crash on Wednesday afternoon on Highway 76 in Georgia.

The crash took place around 3:14 p.m. on Highway 76, or Long Creek Highway in Rabun County when a car was traveling west on Highway 76 and it crossed over the center line, hitting a pickup truck head-on.

The driver and passenger of the car were pronounced dead at the scene.

They have been identified as Judith Hughes, 81, and Matricia Safko, 91.

The occupants of the pickup truck were flown to the hospital. Their injuries are non-life-threatening.

Georgia State Patrol investigated the crash.
