We are soon going to get the Mercedes Benz made sports saloon that has been named C218 as of now. It’s a slinky CLS sports saloon and is much awaited amongst the second generation car segment lovers. There are spy shots available as of now which have been shot at the Nurburgring circuit.
The car is not going to be fitted with the naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 engine as was being speculated. Instead, it would be installed with the newly developed Stuttgart 5.5 liter bi turbo V8 engine. The engine uses direct injection technique and has twin turbochargers. The power output is 544 hp along with 800 Nm or 590 Lb-ft torque. This is an improvement of 37 hp and 125 lb-ft over the current CLS 63 AMG’s V8.
It is also heard that a more upgraded version of the same engine that would deliver 517 Hp and a whooping 900 Nm or 663.8 lb-ft of torque is also in the offing. The car has a seven speed automatic transmission system that will transfer the power to the wheels.
Paris Motor Show to be held in October is the expected event when this car would make its world premiere.
