The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is one of the few ways of styling used by a class of people to haul around their best of friends and relatives. The people hauler shall soon get an update, as some of the spy photographers have snapped images of the 2012 GL-Class in testing.
The new GL-Class however remains largely wrapped in mystery, though what is known is that it shares the same underpinnings and drive train as the ML-Class. Mercedes MOVE family of new direct-injection V-6s and twin-turbo V-8s are expected to power the ML-Class. However, the power and torque specifics pertaining to individual model would only be disclosed in the official release.
You would not go wrong if you are anticipating a car with very similar proportions and lines to the current GL-Class. However, most of the cosmetic changes are obscured by the heavy camo along the front and the sides. Under the hood you may see hints of a two or three-bar grille, a reduction in count as compared to the existing GL’s number and at least set at wider spacing between the consecutive grills.
The headlights are laid out and hence look slightly different whereas the tail lights at least appear to have been partially moved onto the rear lift gate. On the vehicle spied the exhaust and rear bumper did not appear to be dressed in production trim. However, the M-Class shall still have a two-exit system with one tip on each side of the rear.
Stay tuned for the latest inside information and spy shots as we get hold of them, so to discover Mercedes offerings to you, the owner, in its full-size luxury SUV.
