Volkswagen has chalked out a plan of late to revitalize the beetle bug by demonstrating the funky Volkswagen Ragster Concept after a successful sales run because it would be nothing less that a shame for the beetle to just drift away into the state of nonexistence. Volkswagen is therefore, determined not to let Ferdinand Porsche’s immortal beetle get flushed down in the drain.
According to reliable sources, the Ragster concept is likely to make its debut at the Detroit International Motor Show during next year. It is believed that at the motor show the concept car will either create a big conjure up amongst the Beetle lovers or may indiscriminately be glanced by passersby. Some of the latest reports reveal that Volkswagen believes and claims the Ragster to be a completely re-engineered vehicle and not just a remodel of the current Beetle. Volkswagen says the Ragster is a newly designed sports sedan with an all new chassis, new body panels, and completely new interior.
The Ragster concept car derives its power from an option of three engine packages including a top of the line 2.0 liter engine, a 211 HP four cylinder engine and a 1.2 liter engine that produces a healthy 110hp. Experts also believe the company has planned a mix of turbo diesel variants when the car is ready for its market launch.
The Volkswagen Ragster Concept car seems to have been made promising by significant changes in the Beetle. Sports car experts are of the opinion that the company has added a ragtop to the Beetle, along with some attitude in looks of the concept car. The Ragster’s new front windshield panel creates a perception that the Beetle has furrowed its eyebrows.
It is certainly a much better choice than the next generation Beetle. Notably, David Cordoso had rendered the next generation Beetle. Auto experts and sports car fans are just holding back to see if the Ragster can completely replace the classic Beetle. In the mean time, you are requested to stay tuned, to get the latest on updates and developments.
