Very recently, MTM, the famed tuning company has uncovered its plan detailing its new line of performance upgrades for the Audi RS5 coupe. This is going to be one of MTM’s more ‘lighter’ tuning proposals.
The German Tuning company has not gone for fiddling around with the RS5’s 450HP V8 engine. Even though company could have achieved the performance boost and could have increased the sports sedan’s top speed, MTM decided to reprogram the factory electronic speed limiter. The factory default setting for the Audi RS5 controls the top speed of the sports car and does not allow it to exceed 150 mph, which equals to over 280 km/h.
The tuning package brought forth by the tuning specialist simply reprograms the coupe to reach a maximum speed of 303 km/h or 188mph. However, the reprogramming job to enhance the top speed of the RS5 will cost a hefty €1,499 or a little over US$1,900.
The other features of the MTM’s tuning program include a stainless steel sports exhaust system with throttle valves. This features come at an additional cost of €2,998, which equates to US$3,850. The other add-on in the package is set of nine-spoke alloy rims. These alloy rims are available in different sizes including 19″, 20″, and 21″. The alloy rims are priced starting from €2,249 or US$2890 onwards. MTM also revealed that the company is striving hard to release an individually adjustable spring-kit very soon. According to the tuner, the kit is in development phase and is expected to be available and offered for sale later this year.
