2010 Maserati Gran Turismo MC Stradale created by DMC

German tuners DMC have produced a number of fine tuning packages for many a cars over the years. DMC rose to fame with their tuning package called Surfista, designed for the Ferrari California. Surfista replaced the original components of Ferrari California with the same components made of carbon fiber. They enhanced the looks of the car and also the performance by increasing the power of the engine to 550 horsepower from 460 horse power.

They are back again, to impress us with an another styling tuner kit for the Maserati Gran Turismo which is popularly known as Ferrari California’s sister. This styling kit will also be applicable to the MC Stradale which is not out as yet, but is expected to be unveiled in Europe early next year. The highlight of this styling kit is that it allows for a regular Grand Turismo to turn into a MC Stradale. The package is named as Grand Sovorno, which means the great ruler.

The Maserati Gran Turismo is a two-door, two + two coupe. It was unveiled in the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. The standard version was equipped with a 4.2 Liter V8 engine with a power of 405 horse power. Since then there have been many versions of the Gran Turismo. The future of the Gran Turismo, MC Stradale, is designed to be more powerful, lighter and more aerodynamic as compared to all other Gran Turismo models.

DMC’s styling kit for the Grand Turismo has a new front bumper that gives it the appearance of the 2011 MC Stradale and is refined with a carbon fiber front splitter. This front hood also includes three air vents one on each side of three air stairs along with a cooling vent at the center. The package also provides the Gran Turismo with redesigned side skirts and a U-shaped carbon fiber rear wing along with a three finned carbon fiber rear diffuser. DMC also added a set of diamond forged rims of sizes 9,0Jx20 Zoll for the front and 12,5Jx21 Zoll sized rims for the rear.

The DMC Grand Sovorno, not only styles up the vehicle but also provides some very impressive performance upgrades. Under the hood is a water-cooled turbo engine that ensures that the air maintains an energy friendly temperature. The engine upgrade also enhances the performance considerably by increasing the power of the vehicle from 450 horse power to 600 horse power with a maximum torque of 588 NM. The DMC-tuned Gran Turismo can race from 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 196mph which is a considerable improvement from its previous performance which was racing from 0 to 100 km/hr in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 141 mph.

The DMC tuner is entering a market with some pretty impressive players in the past like Novitec Tridente Maserati GranTurismo S and the Maserati GranTurismo by Mansory. We will have to just wait and see whether DMC’s new styling kit will just sustain in the market or give the other cars a run for their money.
