2011 Lotus Evora GTE Road Car Concept Revealed Ahead Its Debut At Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

by Sebastian Bivin

The upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show has caught everyone’s attention, but you can’t forget of another major auto event, which will take place this coming weekend, the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. There will come one model that’s expected to be the attention of all is the new Lotus Evora GTE Road Car Concept.

The new concept (pictured above) it’s based on the Evora GTE racecar, which recently competed in the Le Man 24 hours. It uses a tuned version of the mid-mounted 3.5-litre Toyota V6, producing 420bhp, all of which is fed through a sequential AMT racing gearbox and put to the pavement through ultra-lightweight forged alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires. Expect this car to be significantly quicker than the Evora S – capable of hitting 172mph flat-out.

In addition, the styling has been dramatically changed, with a deep front splitter, stripes on the bonnet and roof and fixed spoiler stuck to the boot lid. As for the interior, no details exists yet, but expect a no-frills cabin, with bucket seats and four-point harnesses.

The 2011 Pebble Beach this weekend will also be the host for a special edition of the Exige. If you want to read more about the Exige Matte Black Final Edition, click here.
