The Volkswagen Passat CC, presented at the 2011 Los Angeles International Auto Show got its name changed, and is now a simply Volkswagen CC. The new 3.6-liter V6 engine delivers 295 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This power is connected to the wheels via a 6-speed DSG transmission that has shift-paddles mounted on a wheel.
The performance is certainly more than satisfactory for a car in the CC’s class: 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. The fuel economy is a mere 25.3 mpg (combined).
The 4Motion all-wheel drive system uses Haldex center differential and XDS-enhanced ESP programming. The automatic six-speed dual-clutch transmission has a Sport mode that shifts through gears better than expected – in fact other car manufacturers could really learn from CC’s example.
The fascia, although modified to some level, still reminds of the previous coupe-style sedans from Volkswagen. The 2013 CC gets new bi-xenon headlights and LED backlights.
The new CC also features lots of safety technologies, so the driver shouldn’t worry about pushing this car to its limits.
The seating is arranged in a 2+2 system. The car’s interior looks spacious enough for all of the passengers and the driver to feel comfortable. The cost price is estimated at around $40,000, which makes this vehicle really interesting indeed.
