We only just got over the amazing 911 Cabriolet presented at the Detroit Motor Show, when the new Porsche Boxter (code named 981) caught our eye again. Being the best Roadster in its class, this year’s Boxter promises to satisfy every customer’s needs.
The standard 2013 Boxter will be powered by a smaller, 2.7-liter engine that delivers 265 horsepower, and allows the car to go from 0 to 62 in 5.4 seconds with the PDK 7-speed automatic transmission (that is available as an option). The more powerful Boxter S that comes with a 3.4 liter engine that is good for 315 horsepower gets to 62 in just 4.7 seconds with the same PDK transmission.
The standard transmission is a six speed manual, and as I said before, there is an option available for a 7 speed PDK automatic one.
There is also word that the new Boxter will return a better fuel consumption, partially because the mass has been decreased by 40 kg.
The exterior design looks stunning, as anyone would expect from crossbreeding a 918 Spyder with a Carrera GT. The new, bigger 20-inch wheels also improve the looks of this Boxter.
The interior aspect is similar to the one of the Carrera GT (for example a wider central console that comes with all of Porsche’s newest vehicles). Interior space has also been increased, and the two passengers get a lot more space, especially around the shoulder area.
The 2013 Porsche Boxter will be revealed at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, and it announces to be a smashing automobile.
