Nissan NV200 makes its Chicago debut

Nissan has formally pulled the curtains off the US-specific NV200 Cargo Van at the Chicago Auto Show.

With Sale to go on stream in April, the North American version has been built according to the American specifications where bigger is better is the norm. By the way, the model’s body has been enlarged by 7.9 inches compared to the standard NV200 that is sold in other overseas markets. As a result of this change the model measures 186.3 inches long and it can hold 122.7 cubic feet (3,474 liters) of cargo.

The rest of the van is similar to any other carrier as it features dual sliding rear doors and a functional interior designed to suit business and fleet owners.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 131 hp (98 kW) and 139 lb-ft (188 Nm) of torque. It is attached to an Xtronic continuously variable transmission which enables the model to return 24 mpg city / 25 mpg highway / 24 mpg combined (US).

The entry-level NV200 S will carry a price tag of $19,990 while the better equipped NV200 SV will sell for $20,980.
