Porsche has finally released the initial pictures of the 2014 911 GT3 RSR, ahead of its racing debut at the World Endurance Championship to be held in the UK.
Heavily derived from the new 911, the GT3 RSR sample was recently tested at the Sebring International Raceway by Porsche works drivers. The drivers will compete in the World Endurance Championship along with German drivers.
Porsche’s Head of Motorsport, said We are very happy with how the testing has gone so far. Our aim is to be well prepared for the challenges of the very strong GTE class in the WEC and at Le Mans. He also went on to say that until the season stats in Silverstone, we will conduct some more tests on other race tracks so that our new 911 RSR is well and fully ready for the World Endurance Championship season.
Technical details remains a mystery yet, but the sample carries an dynamic body kit with modified bumpers, a ventilated hood, a prominent back wing and revised side skirts. Power required to move the car is still unknown, but the outgoing model has a 4.0-litre boxer engine with 460 HP (338 kW).
