Lotus denies unpaid staff warning of strike

Lotus has denied reports of the Enstone based team struggling to survive financially amid crippling debts. Though it was already out that the team’s highest-paid member, lead driver Kimi Raikkonen, is waiting on his latest pay installment.

And now reports in the German press have reported that other unpaid staff at Enstone is also threatening to lay down their tools. At the same time the spare parts are also running low because suppliers are also waiting for invoices to be paid.

Recently there was news that 35 per cent of the Genii-owned team has been sold to a consortium called Infinity Racing, but it subsequently emerged that the deal is still not actually completed. Team boss Eric Boullier also admitted that “There may be some delays, but it will be repaired within a few days.” He further stated that the package would ensure that the future of the company is completed slowly, but they will get there as reported by Finnish broadcaster MTV3.

On the contrary, the Spanish sports newspaper Marca has stated that the company has officially denied that team members have not been paid and are therefore threatening to go for a strike.
