2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale seen in the metal

by SpeedLux

One of the cameraman managed to spy a Ferrari 458 Speciale which was announced only a couple of days ago.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale which is scheduled for public debut at IAA in Frankfurt in September looks meaner and was spotted at Ferrari’s factory in Maranello. The model will come fitted with its modified 4.5-liter V8 engine which would now be able to generate an impressive output of 605 HP (445 kW) and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm) of torque, which means it is Ferrari’s most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 ever designed till date.

While the 458 Italia has a dry weight of 1,380 kg (3,042 lbs), the Speciale has reduced the weight significantly by 90 kg (198 lbs). With the help of the lesser weight & increased output, the super car is now able to reach 62 mph (100 kmph) in just 3 seconds which is 0.4s faster than the Italia.

The Speciale is not only quicker and faster as compared to Italia, but will also complete the lap of the Fiorano test track in around 1m 23.5 seconds which makes it faster by 1.5s than the regular 458 model.

Looks quite impressive and surely it will create some excitement in the hearts of the car lovers.
