According to the latest report, Mercedes-Benz has plans of showing a concept of the S-Class Coupe at Frankfurt Motor Show to be held next month in Germany.
While the S-Class Coupe has been spied quite a few times undergoing testing, and now we have heard that Mercedes-Benz is about to introduce a preview concept at IAA in the coming month. A similar report had come out in June which referred to a Frankfurt Motor Show unveiling of a near-production concept. Interestingly, photographers also got a chance to take the picture of the concept’s key fob which had the “CL 217” lettering, indicating Mercedes-Benz might stick to the CL-Class moniker.
In terms of power, the engine lineup will likely be carried over from the 2014 S-Class so we can expect options that include a V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo with 333 HP (245 kW), a V8 4.7-liter rated at 455 HP (335 kW) and a twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter outputting 593 HP (436 kW).
The production version of the model is expected to be unveiled at the 2014 NAIAS which will be held in January in Detroit, with order books opening in the same month and the first deliveries will take place in March.
