BMW is expanding its third-gen X5 lineup with the M50d model scheduled to reach the dealerships in Europe on 16th November. However the company does not have plans to introduce the same in United States and so the customers there would not be able to get this M50d.

The 2014 X5 M50d comes fitted with a Euro 6-compliant 3.0-liter tri-turbo engine producing 381 HP (280 kW) and a peak torque of 740 Nm (546 lb-ft). The power is sent to the xDrive all-wheel drive system through an eight-speed automatic gearbox which enables the car to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in 5.3 seconds.

The X5 M50d being a diesel model, it is quite an economical car given its size as it has a fuel consumption of 6.7 liters / 100 km (35.1 mpg US or 42.2 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 177 g/km. The company has claimed that the new model is at least 10 percent more economical than its predecessor.

The model comes fitted as standard with the X5 M50d with Adaptive M suspension with Dynamic Damper Control and air suspension at the rear axle. The car rides as standard on double-spoke lightweight M 19-inch alloy wheels covered in all-season tires.
