For quite a while, the media around the world have been reporting that the luxury automaker from Germany, Mercedes-Benz, is prepping a new vehicle. Namely, the vehicle is the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 AMG Coupe. Now, according to the most recent reports from German media, the vehicle may well be heading to the upcoming NAIAS event in Detroit.
If this is to be true, it may not be too long that Mercedes introduces the flagship AMG model after unveiling the coupe variant just three weeks ago. Back then, the company refrained from showing the public the AMG variant of the GLE 63 Coupe. Instead, the only AMG vehicle that the German automaker previewed back then was the GLE 450 AMG model. The latter comes with a 3.0L V6 engine with twin turbochargers. This results in 367 hp of power output and 520 Nm of torque. However, it seems that it will soon get beaten by an upcoming full-blown AMG model. Reportedly, this one will boast a 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine, similar to that of the AMG variants of the C63 and the GT model.
Unfortunately, in respect to the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 AMG Coupe, the exact output figures still remain a mystery. However, for comparisons, the German company’s AMG GT spits out 462 hp and 600 Nm of power and torque whereas the company’s AMG GT S spits out 510 hp and 650 Nm of power and torque.
If reports from the German media are to be believed, the Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 AMG Coupe will make its debut come January 12, 2015. Also, taking into consideration that the regular Mercedes-Benz GLE 63 Coupe will arrive at dealerships this spring, the AMG variant should also arrive not long after that. After all, that is always the norm so far.
