Chevrolet to Bring the Bolt Concept to NAIAS?

by SpeedLux

A quite interesting bit of news has just come in from The Wall Street Journal. The journal is currently hinting at a new vehicle model from the American automaker, Chevrolet. The new model will reportedly be known as the Chevy Bolt and it will be introduced officially at the upcoming 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) that is going to take place in Detroit, of course.

To some people out there, this may be the very first time ever that they hear about the brand Chevrolet Bolt. After all, Chevrolet registered it only a year ago, in August 2014 to be exact. Now, however, it seems that the Bolt moniker is eventually ready for use. As reported by the WSJ, quoting from the Autoblog, the Chevrolet Bolt will bow this oncoming Monday when the 2015 NAIAS eventually starts officially. The WSJ also reports that the vehicle will utilize the battery technology developed by the LG Chem. This is the very company that also produces the battery to be used on the Chevy Volt.

Yet, as for the Chevrolet Bolt electric vehicle (EV), it will come in the form of a crossover and Chevy will sell it all over the world for an asking price of $30,000. It can reach an estimated distance of 322 km in total. Also, if reports out there are to be believed, the upcoming Bolt EV from Chevy will use a platform that is also used by the Chevrolet Sonic as its base. It is expected that the final production version of the Chevrolet Bolt will arrive at dealerships somewhere around the year 2017. Well, that is just about two years to go, which is pretty soon, if you ask us. So, in the meantime, perhaps it is a good idea to save some money, eh? 🙂
