Three Dallas Baptist University students were found dead during the a single-vehicle accident occurred in far southwest Dallas around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Police stated a driver and 2 passengers remained in a car taking a trip southbound on Mountain Creek Parkway around the border between Dallas and Grand Prairie when the automobile struck a curb and repelled the street.

The vehicle then struck a huge fiberglass cylinder being installed near Mountain Creek Lake, police stated. The car went airborne and hit an utility pole on the side of the street.

The university confirmed the identities of the students: Will Smith of Bullard, Justin Schubert of Cleburne, and Djordje (DJ) Sarenac of Belgrade located in Serbia.

It was not right away clear who was driving the vehicle when it lost control.

Images captured by News 8 at the scene showed the automobile upside-down on the incorrect side of the guard rail.

DBU has scheduled a memorial service for 9 p.m. Sunday in the Pilgrim Chapel on the school’s school.

“Our hearts and prayers are with the households of these students as our University grieves this heartbreaking loss,” read a statement from the university.
