Woman alleged of driving while high, crashing car with child in Damariscotta

A woman is alleged of driving while high and crashing with a young kid in the vehicle.

It took place in Damariscotta on Tuesday.

As per the Lincoln County News, 24-year-old Brittany Burns was driving on Back Meadow Road at 6:30 a.m. when her car left the roadway and struck a tree.

Cops say Burns had on a safety belt and a child under two in her car was correctly restrained. Both suffered small injuries.

Cops stated Burns was high on marijuana.

Burns faces one count each of threatening the welfare of a child, running under the influence, and possession of a schedule Z drug (clonazepam), Damariscotta Police Chief Warlick informed the Lincoln County News.
