Over 323,000 vehicles will be recalled for an inadequate crimp in a wire harness that could result in a loss of power.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is performing a voluntary recall for an approximated 323,361 automobiles in the United States. The afflicted cars were developed after September 23, 2014 and consist of the 2015 Chrysler 200, Ram ProMaster City, Jeep Renegade, and 2014 and 2015 Jeep Cherokees.
Issue is with an inadequate crimp in the cars’ electrical wiring harness might result in a solenoid fault code, which could trigger the engine to stop. The loss of power might lead to an accident.
No injuries or deaths have been reported yet.
FCA will need to upgrade the affected vehicles’ software and replace wire harnesses, as required. According to FCA, owners of the vehicles that experience the issue can briefly resolve the concern by restarting the vehicle.
