General Motors and its self-driving innovation, Cruise Automation, are testing self-driving automobiles on the streets of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Testing of self-driving electrical Chevrolet Bolts started in Arizona about 2 weeks back. It’s the 2nd city for General Motors’ real-world tests. Autonomous Bolts with Cruise Automation software have been driving near San Francisco from May 20.
General Motors representative Kevin Kelly says the company is thinking about other cities for tests however wasn’t prepared to reveal locations.
He would not state the number of Bolts are being tested. Although the cars drive autonomously, Kelly states they all have human backup chauffeurs.
General Motors obtained San Francisco-based Cruise Automation in March for $581 million in money and General Motors stock. Kelly says the company has also opened an office in Scottsdale.
