“Vapor” a relentless, 785-hp restomod ’65 Mustang Fastback made by acclaimed builder RoadsterShop, is going to be revealed at the Eaton booth (# 229430) at the 2016 SEMA Show on November 1 at 9:30 a.m.
Provided in conjunction with two of the aftermarket’s preeminent brand names– Eaton and Edelbrock– the fittingly called “Vapor” is coming from the only remnants noticeable after this supercar passes by.
Adjusted under Vapor’s hood is Edelbrock’s most recent and most effective E-Force supercharged Ford 5.0 liter Coyote crate engine. The low profile supercharger style integrates Eaton’s TVS ® (Twin Vortices Series) rotors with 4 lobes and a 160-degrees of twist which enhances air flow and produces constant peak effectiveness. The motor produced an impressive 785 hp and 660 ft-lbs. of torque at the flywheel when checked at the Edelbrock dyno facility. Its 9.5:1 compression ratio produces safe and dependable supercar efficiency that still works on premium pump gas.
Vapor also features Eaton’s Detroit Truetrac ® 5 pinion rear end developed with a scalloped flange for minimized turning mass and the best fit in high horse power performance applications where severe strength and durability are crucial.
Emphasizing its lines, the car exists in a Sport Classic Gray and Black paint plan that is both enormous yet downplayed. Vapor is the outcome of a two-year build, commissioned by a Southern California-based fan and collector, who conceived the project and manage its substantial style and production information.
The Roadster Shop team devoted many hours, accuracy painstaking craftsmanship and innovative design and production of bespoke parts in the advancement of this distinctive automobile. Their work consisted of a ground up chassis and suspension design, custom-made metal work, design/engineering and production of one off CNC-machined parts, fully electrical wiring, assembly and painting. Interior and upholstery was finished by Palm City, Florida-based Avant Garde Designs.
