A 3-year-old kid being taken on a shopping trip by his grandma was killed in a road rage shooting when a driver opened fire on the grandma’s car as he thought she “wasn’t moving fast enough at a stop sign,” police stated.
The kid and his grandmother were at the stop sign, located in southwest Little Rock on Saturday night when a driver seemingly angry about the hold-up stepped out of his car and opened fire, authorities stated. The boy was struck by shooting at least once, they included.
The grandma, who wasn’t struck, called cops from a shopping center.
Police came to the shopping center and discovered the kid in the vehicle outside a JCPenney department store. The young boy was taken to a hospital, where he died soon, becoming the second child shot dead in a road rage occurrence in the city in the last couple of weeks.
Police Lt. Steve McClanahan stated investigators think the kid and his grandma “were completely innocent” and have no link with Saturday’s shooter, who was being looked for. He told the grandmother just was driving the car and was taking her grandson shopping when the incident took place.
Police said they were searching for an older black Chevrolet Impala. Police did not release an in-depth description of the person who was driving it.
