The Honda Civic Type R will be on sale from spring in the U.S. Honda hasn’t revealed official prices yet, the company states to anticipate an MSRP “in the mid-$ 30,000” range.
Honda’s prices method isn’t too away from its rivals. Pricing of the 2017 Ford Focus RS begins at $36,995 and the 2017 Subaru WRX STI opts for $36,015, although the 2017 Volkswagen Golf R is a bit more costly at $40,195. Given all of those cars drive all four wheels rather than just the fronts like the Type R.
Available just as a hatchback, the Civic Type R will include a 2.0-liter turbo-four creating 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated with a six-speed manual, which is the only offered transmission for this vehicle. It will come filled with basic features, which include a 7.0-inch touchscreen with navigation, 12-speaker sound, sport seats with much heavier bolstering, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter.
The Honda Civic Type R had its first appearance in production form at the Geneva Motor Show this month. It will make its U.S. launching at the New York Auto Show in April.
Likewise headed to the New York show are two brand-new Clarity variations. After providing the first Clarity Fuel Cell automobiles to clients in the United States last year, the company is going to present the Clarity Electric and Clarity Plug-in Hybrid.
