Audi has recently announced its plans to offer a variety of eco-friendly ultra models that would have low fuel consumption and also reduced CO2 emissions.
The A3 1.6 TDI ultra, which is also the first model of the company, is described as the brand’s most fuel-efficient production model. It is available as a three- or five door hatchback and comes with features such as S line side skirts, a 15mm reduced ride height, a longer final drive ratio and 16-inch wheels with low-rolling resistance tires.
Under the hood, the power is provided by a 1.6-liter TDI engine that is capable of generating 110 HP (81 kW). This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in 10.5 seconds and can hit a top speed of 200 kmph (124 mph). The model weighs around 1,205 kg (2,656 lb).
Since it is made with the intention to make it fuel efficient, the owners can expect the model to average 3.2 L/100km (73.50 mpg US / 88.27 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of just 85 g/km.
In terms of pricing, the A3 1.6 TDI ultra comes with a base price of €25,200 for German markets. The model will go on sale in September and it is expected to be followed by a handful of other ultra variants featuring TDI and TFSI engines.
