Audi Product Planners Deny Q1 Mini Prestige SUV Existence

by SpeedLux

Several publications have reported the Q1 mini prestige SUV from the stable of Audi is now launch-ready and may hit the showrooms as early as 2016. Few others also write a plug-in hybrid version of it will also be following by 2018.

Lately several of the Audi product planners have denied any truths behind these rumors.

Meanwhile, it is believed the new car will be just 3800mm long and it will be a front-wheel drive only proposition. In recent times several other similar-sized models were also launched such as the Holden Trax, Renault Captur, Ford EcoSport and the Peugeot 2008.

AutoBild magazine from Germany has also listed the engine selections of the new baby SUV. It says the Q1 will be much like the A1 and the company would be offering a choice of 1.4 TFSI (petrol) and 1.4 TDI (diesel) engines. The magazine writes both the engines will be producing 67kW with seven-speed S tronic (dual-clutch) transmission.

It is also reported the new baby SUV will be topped by a 172kW SQ1 variant and it will be powered by a 2.0 TFSI engine.

However, the Audi product planners say there is no such internal communication, but Audi will definitely continue introducing interesting new models.
