Behold the Range Rover Evoque Copy from This Chinese Automaker!

by SpeedLux

Recently, we have been bringing you several bits of news about how the Chinese automakers are proudly copying the designs of vehicles that come from other countries but China. We have reported at least two models copied and are being proudly presented at the Shandong EV Expo that is currently taking place in Jinan City, China. Now, the Chinese automakers are striking again and this time it is a company known as Longer that takes the pride in copying other people’s design.

At the Shandong EV Expo, the aforementioned Chinese company is proudly presenting what it calls the Yuelang X1, a low speed EV model. Yet, regardless of what the Chinese may call it, the car is essentially a Range Rover Evoque, copied. To say the least, the car features an engine that is heavily influenced by the original Range Rover Evoque developed by the luxury British automaker, Land Rover. Well, if that is not annoying enough, this low speed EV from China even sports headlamps, taillights and front grille that all look very much alike the ones available on the original model from Britain. The only difference, it seems, is that this Chinese version of the Evoque is smaller when compared to the original one. Nevertheless, the car even has the Range lettering on its badging, along with OnevRover at its back. Even the positioning of the badging is insanely similar to that of the original luxury British vehicle model. What the heck is going on here…?

Well, as if those are not surprising enough already, if you take a more detailed look on the images of the car, you can even start to see the typical green badging of the Land Rover. Only, somehow, it looks smaller than where it is being mounted, most likely because it has been unplugged from the original Range Rover model. What makes the car even more strangely surprising is that it sits on a set of BMW wheels, mind you! Too bad the Chinese automaker does not bother to polish or at least clean the wheels before bringing to the car to such an automotive exhibition event.
