Bentley Turbo R all set to be a reality again soon

by Alex

Mr. Wolfgang Duerheimer is the new leader of Bentley and Bugatti. Thanks to Mr. Wolfgang Duerheimer the Bugatti Galibier four door sedan model has received the go ahead last Friday, something that has also been confirmed by inside sources. There is also the news that the Turbo ‘R’ a new product for Bentley is also in the offing. The new model would be a really fast car and would be on the higher ranges of price when compared to the 2011 Bentley Continental GT model which is the company’s current model in the market.

The designation of turbo is not new to Bentley as this name has been used by the British manufactirere way back in 1985 and had been under production till 1994. When production started the initial variants that came out were a Mulsanne Turbo with additional power. With the entry of Mike Dunn as the company’s chief engineer there was a change in the design of the car and it received larger antiroll bars, a Panhard rod and self-leveling rear suspension.

The car was fitted with a turbocharged 6.8 liter V8 engine and the acceleration could hit 6.7 seconds for the 0 to 60 mph. This made it qualified to be termed a supercar. The present variant is expected to be a coupe based Mulsanne in a new get up. It would be as impressive as the Rolls-Royce Phantom coupe by looks and price therefore would also be an impressive figure at its launch which is expected in 2014.
