Going as per the demands of the people the popularity of the BMW X6 has sky rocketed, something that has prompted the Bavarian manufacturer to go for the making of a smaller version of the popular car.
The new X4 seemed to be based on the same design and the mechanicals of the X6. The project was given a go ahead when the the financial crisis unfolded that led to BMW rolling back the development process. And now, with the economy showing positive signs of recovery, BMW wants this car in market. As for the design of the car, the luxury carmaker wants it to be based on the 2011 BMW X3 which was showcased last week. BMW want’s to follow the same design philosophy in much the same manner as the X6 did with the X5. What seems to be finalized is that the car won’t have the conventional tailgate as the X6 had in it, and it is expected to increase its flexibility by adding a two way hatch which is very much similar to the 5-series GT. And now about when the car can be expected to make its debut, well its too early to even speculate though we can surely expect an concept car soon.
