BMW M135i Concept – Ready for Geneva Motor Show

We thought we knew everything the Bavarians from BMW had to offer at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, but we were wrong. They announced the new M135i Concept, the first BMW M-Performance automobile to run on gasoline.

According to BMW, the M135i will be powered by the already famous twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline 6 engine. Official output of this engine hasn’t been released yet, but it is expected to have a value of over 300 horsepower.

As an exception from other cars in the 1 Series, the M135i will have three doors, which means that this vehicle belongs to the three-door hatch class.

The suspension has been modified for compatibility with the M Performance system, and the wheels are now 18-inchers. The exterior looks pretty good, especially with the new pearly white color and red and blue stripes on the sides. The bumper and aerodynamic look of this car remind of the performance of a typical German hot-hatch.

The BMW M135i Concept will be released at Geneva next month, and although it is merely a concept, it is likely to start production sooner than originally expected. That means that it might become available as soon as this year’s end… at least for European buyers.
