Car jumps into Potomac River, 2 dead, 1 hospitalized

The automobile was discovered in the water close to the Roosevelt Bridge early Sunday.

The United States Park Police stated that the automobile was traveling north on Ohio Drive near Parkway Drive when it left the road.

One traveler had the ability to swim ashore and alert authorities. That passenger was taken to the medical facility for the injuries. The motorist and another passenger were found dead in the car, as per U.S. Park Police.

The automobile went into the water at 10:50 p.m. Saturday.

Emergency situation people from D.C. cops, Park cops and the U.S. Coast Guard, with fire boats from D.C. and Alexandria, searched the water for the vehicle and the bodies for hours.

The automobile and was located at 1 a.m. A cadaver dog from Fairfax County, Virginia found the bodies.

Authorities are examining exactly what triggered the car to plunge into the river. The reasons behind the death are still being examined.
