Chevrolet Volt: A video to highlight the car’s virtues

by Alex

Chevrolet has made this all electric car naming it the Chevrolet Volt and as an ad campaign, they have also released a video of the vehicle which depicts its prominent and promising features. The car is able to travel a distance of 40 miles on a single charge of the battery and 340 miles with a full tank. The unique feature of the car is its ability to be charged anywhere. The battery pack is a liquid cool lithium ion one and need ten hours to be charged using 120 v while requiring only four hours if using a 240 volt outlet.

The 2011 Chevrolet Volt comes bundled with a comprehensive eight year or 100,000 miles warranty that covers all the 161 battery components present in the Volt. However, a warranty scheme of this scale is not the first to be associated with a car as that credit goes to Nissan which is also offering something similar with its Leaf electric car. Basic cost of the Volt has been fixed at $41,000. Federal Tax credit as applicable is $7,500 and therefore the cost would be down to $33,500. There is also the lease option where consumers can have their very own electric Volt car at the rate of $350 per month for thirty six months. These price match up with the Nissan offer on their Leaf. The tax incentive too will come into play in the lease payment option.

There is competition between the Volt and Nissan’s Leaf and it is up to viewers to decide which is the better electric car of the two.
