Daniel Garcia designed Audi A9 Hybrid Sports Sedan

by Alex

This is what the A9 sports sedan looks like, which happens to be BMW’s Vision concept when viewed through the Audi point of view. And of course the entire thing is unofficial and is the creation of Spanish independent designer Daniel Garcia who drew inspiration from architect Santiago Calatrava’s exquisite buildings in Valencia.

The luxury sports sedan is also in line with the 5-Series GT with which BMW had tried to create a niche market segment. So the Audi A9 would also like to be seen as a über-luxury sports saloon with an overdose of style and incorporating the latest hybrid technology in a segment that will be its very own. The A9 can also emerge as a challenger to the Porsche Panamera.

The most striking aspect of the A9 sports sedan is perhaps its opaque windshield which is carried all the way up to the ceiling and is the result of a secret nanotechnology material that is yet to make it to the mass market. The unique aspect of the material is its ability adjust its color or tint as per requirement.

As for its powertrain, Audi would most probably go for a gasoline engine that would work in tandem with in-wheel electric motors, something that is being suggested by Garcia.
