Supreme Court has lifted the ban on registration of diesel vehicles over 2000 cc in engine capability in Delhi-NCR and has directed that auto manufacturers, dealerships or buyers will have to deposit one percent environment of ex-showroom price of the impacted automobiles as environment cess which is to be deposited prior to Central Pollution Control Board which will open a different account in a PSU bank.
It included that it will choose whether green cess can be imposed on diesel vehicles of below 2000 cc engine capacity afterwards.
