FAW Group reports increase in car sales in the first quarter

Chinese automaker FAW Group sold more than 1 million vehicles in the first quarter of this year, showing an increase of 74.3 percent year-on-year sales.

Other than that, the automaker also reported its own sedan brand Hongqi having sold 70,060 units in the period, increasing 180.2 percent from the same period last year, while 191,060 trucks of the Jiefang brand were sold, showing an increase of 76.8 percent.

On the other hand, the automaker’s joint ventures FAW-Volkswagen and FAW Toyota reported a sales increase of 72.4 percent and 76.6 percent to 550,869 units and 217,102 units.
