Firestone officer dragged by car and released after taking to hospital

An officer from Firestone suffered small injuries Saturday morning when he was dragged by a vehicle. Officer Dan Wittler was examining a suspicious car in unincorporated Weld County when he was struck. He grabbed onto the motorist’s side window and was drug 15 feet.

Wittler could get back in his car and briefly followed the motorist on westbound Highway 119 up until it ended up being too unsafe. Boulder Cops ultimately arrested two suspects in the car when they attempted to abandon it in the city. Wittler was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with small injuries and has actually since been released.

Firestone cops say both suspects were likewise wanted on other charges. Their names have not yet been revealed.
