Ford is testing a unique material to make auto parts

Ford Motor has been incorporating automobile parts made with natural products in its automobiles for years, and now it’s turning its interest to using an item nobody wants: co2.

Ford announced last week that it will start developing foams based upon the greenhouse gas. It’ll operate in partnership with Novomer, a firm that catches carbon dioxide produced by producing plants.

In some cases, the laboratory establishes items that won’t work for vehicles however that can be used in other customer products, and Ford wants to certify these inventions.

Ford makes the Escape at the Louisville Assembly Plant on Fern Valley Road. It likewise makes F-Series Super Duty trucks, Ford Expeditions and Lincoln Navigator and MKCs located in Louisville at the Kentucky Truck Plant. Together, those plants have about 9,000 staff members.
