Germany considers self-drive car ‘black box’

Germany is considering to reveal a black-box-style data recorder for self-driving cars to help investigators in the event of a crash.

Following reports that brand-new legislation was being planned, the Federal Ministry of Transportation and Digital Infrastructure informed the BBC the draft had actually not yet been settled.

The hardware would consider the choices made by an automobile’s computer while being used in self-driving mode. It could identify the cause of a crash.

The draft law was anticipated to be sent to other ministries for approval this summer, Reuters reported.
