Linsey Gail Perry suspected to have hit police officer with car

Portland police on Monday arrested a woman suspected of hitting a Hillsboro police officer with a stolen car previously this month, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Police found 37-year-old Linsey Gail Perry in Portland, officials said.

She was booked into the Washington County Jail on allegations consisting of second-degree assault, assault of a peace officer, illegal use of a motor vehicle, and driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Hillsboro police were at first called February 6 to check on a woman in a car parked at an Old Navy store on Northeast Evergreen Parkway. They confirmed the car was stolen from Portland in January and attempted to take the driver out of the car in order to arrest her, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Perry backed up the vehicle with her driver’s door open and hit an officer, who was smashed against a parked car, the Sheriff’s Office said. She then escaped from the scene, and the car was found abandoned in Beaverton later that day.

The police officer was treated at a hospital and released the same day.
