The Australian-made rear-wheel-drive V8 sedan automaker is set to honor its 25th Anniversary of its long lasting model, the ClubSport with a set of limited edition cars. The Chief of Design and Styling at Hold Special Vehicles (HSV) Julian Quincey said “ClubSport is a much revered nameplate in the HSV line-up,” he further added, “The styling enhancements we’ve introduced pay homage to its racing heritage and, at the same time, give the vehicle added street presence and attitude.” Holden Special Vehicles is planning to produce only a handful of 108 units of its 25th Anniversary Clubsport R8 Specials, from which 100 will be for sale in Australia and only 8 units for the sale in New Zealand.
As for pricing, Holden Special Vehicles are offering a price tag of the same 73,290 AUD as the standard ClubSport R8. The Special edition has 20-inch SV Rapier wheels (the same ones fitted to the SV Senator) but is finished in black along with a new spoiler and black accents. The ClubSport R8 is powered by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine that allows the ClubSport to develop 456 bhp (340 kW) and 420 lb-ft (570 Nm) of torque. The car can be connected to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. As for the 25th Anniversary Edition, the car has AP Racing brakes, a limited slip differential and an HSV Performance Suspension.
