Japanese automaker Honda Motor is preparing to bring back to Japan some auto production from a plant located in the United Kingdom that was already set to close, the Nikkei newspaper reported.

Honda prepares to move production of its Civic cars now being made at a plant located in Swindon to a factory in Yorii, northwest of Tokyo, in 2021, Nikkei said.

The decision to close the plant came when a number of companies are planning to move out of the UK because of the Brexit, but Honda had clarified last year that their decision to close the UK plant had to do nothing with Brexit.
