Hyundai i20 spied testing with less camo in southern Europe

by SpeedLux

The less disguised prototype of the second-gen Hyundai i20 has been caught on camera recently.

This time the prototype was spied testing in southern Europe with comapratively less camouflage which allows us to see its bigger lower front grille and sweptback headlights. We also notice the vertical taillights and a tailgate-mounted spoiler while the turn signals are now built into the mirrors itself. The second generation model will probably larger in size a bit since the i10 is now slightly larger so Hyundai will definitely want to better separate the two.

However there won’t be any surprises under the hood where the 2015 Hyundai i20 will comes fitted with 3-cylinder 1.0-liter and 4-cylinder 1.25-liter gasoline engines along with 3-cylinder 1.1- and 4-cylinder 1.4-liter turbodiesels mated to a standard 6-speed manual or an optional automatic gearbox. We can surely expect the next year’s range-topping i20 N which is part of the company’s newly established performance division to be much more interesting.

The second generation Hyundai i20 will probably be unveiled at the 2014 Paris Motor Show that will be held in October before going on sale late this year or early 2015.
