Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF), the arm of Hyundai Motor India has ordered the advanced diagnostics testing kit associated from South Korea in order to fight coronavirus, the company stated.
The company claimed these sophisticated kits have a very high level of accuracy and can serve more than 25,000 people. These kits will be distributed in consultation with the Center and State governments to the hospitals in affected regions, the automaker added.
Talking about the initiative, SS Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor said, “As part of our worldwide direction – ‘Progress for Humanity’, Hyundai is committed to support the Government of India’s spirited fight against the COVID-19 crisis. Our contribution towards supplies of Advanced Diagnostic testing kits will help more than 25000 people.”
“We will keep monitoring the situation closely and support the Indian Government with multi-layered CSR initiatives to bring back normalcy at the earliest”, he said.
Hyundai had also declared initiatives to support consumers by offering 24×7 roadside assistance.
According to the release, the company has also increased service maintenance period by two months where consumers are not able to avail it because of the health emergency or dealership shutdown in concerning cities.
HMIL said it has deployed over 1000 doorstep advantage bikes and emergency road service cars from dealers to reach consumers for assistance in case of emergency and minor fixes.
About 1,071 people in India have been confirmed as being infected with the coronavirus. The virus has killed 29 people in the country.
