Seat has disclosed its plan to present a second iteration of its IBE small sports concept car. The event selected by the automaker is the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The first version was introduced at the Geneva Salon in the month of March and was a coupe-ish hatchback with the low bonnet and long roof line.

Seat has since them carried out lot of changes in the interior of the car. Similarly, the exteriors too have been tweaked. A restyled lower fascia and new LED headlamps along with taillights are some of the areas of tweaking. In addition, the new Seat IBE now comes in attractive cherry-red color.

According to auto experts, the sports coupe from Seat is a super-compact concept car that has 2+2 seat layout. The sports coupe is over 200 mm shorter as compared to the Ibiza that measures over 3,830 mm in length. However, experts also have disclosed that the Ibiza is unusually wider i.e. over 1,770 mm with a height of just 1,230 mm.

Seat, the Spanish automaker, has provided ample space for two in its new IBE. According to automaker, the IBE has “plenty of room in the back for the option of a trip for four”. To create more space the coupe has foldable rear seat backs that can be folded individually in order to create a flat surface. The surface thus created is in level with the luggage compartment floor. The concepts care is loaded with loads of gadgets including a wireless application that connects a smart phone to the IBE. This can be used to conduct an on-line check of the car’s systems.

The IBE, the sports coupe concept car, is an all-electric vehicle with drive motor that churns out a maximum of 75 kW output which is the equivalent of 102 hp. Similarly, the sports coupe’s electric motors produce over 200 Nm of torque. The motor is placed along with the power electronics at the front of the car and is powered by lithium-ion battery is positioned in the rear.

According to Spanish automaker, the IBE weights only 1,100 kg, which equates to a mere 2,425 pounds. The sports coupe is capable of dashing from zero km/h to 50 km/h in as low as 3.6 seconds and can hit the 100km/h mark from standstill in 9.7 seconds. The concept car can reach a top speed of 160 km/h or 100 mph. The lithium-ion battery offers the ability to drive the car up to 130 kilometers or 80 miles once fully charged.
