Infinity has recently announced the pricing of its M37 model for the UK market. Powered by a 3.7 liter petrol V6 engine, the Infinity M37 which many automotive experts believe is the BMW 5-Series beater from the Japanese firm, would be obtainable in five different price grades starting from over £35,150.

In October the M30d diesel would be introduced as an extension of the M range. The M range would further get extended by the M35 hybrid in spring 2011. The prices and specs for both M35 and M30d versions are likely to be announced at a later date this year. The Infiniti’s 3.7 liter petrol V6 churning out 316 bhp, which mean over 320 PS of power, is believed to be the main motivating factor behind the M37.

The engine propels the four-door saloon to sprint from mere 0 to over 62mph or 100km/h in as low as 6.2 seconds. The top speed of the saloon is electronically limited at over 155 mph or 250 km/h. Fuel consumption figures on the combined cycle stand at 27.7 mpg in UK while CO2 emissions are limited to 235 g/km.

The base M37 rolls out pre-equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission, bi-Xenon lights, and 10-way power front seats. The other prominent features include a reverse aiding camera, hard disk drive (HDD) sound system and the firm’s new Drive Mode Selector. The new Drive Mode Selector tailors key driving parameters to Sport, Normal, Snow and Eco settings. The base model is priced starting at £35,150.

The M37 GT prices, however, start from £37,650. The prominent feature of the saloon include addition of semi-aniline leather, heated and ventilated front seats and White Ash wood trim with silver powder finish. Up next is the M37S model. The new M37S is priced starting at £39,650. The sedan features a 4-Wheel Active Steering (4WAS), sports suspension, and sports seats. The sports seats are also heated and ventilated. The other prominent feature consists of gearshift paddles and a 20-inch alloy wheels.

Premium versions of both the GT and the S models are also on offer from Infiniti. The GT model starts from £43,000 whereas the S would be priced at £45,000. The premium version of the saloon include features such as Dynamic Safety Shield package, Forest Air, a 16-speaker Bose sound system (needless to talk about the sound quality) and the Connectiviti+. The Connectiviti+ system consists of information and entertainment platform comprising of 30GB HDD navigation.

Additionally, the Premium versions of the saloon also offer a system that is termed as the “Eco Pedal.” The “Echo Pedal” system improves the fuel consumption of the car and works by pushing back the accelerator pedal on the driver’s foot on detection of excess pressure and poor fuel efficiency.
