Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum highlights the development of the Project 7

Jaguar has recently released a new video clip that highlights the development the Project 7 which debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.

In the clip, Jaguar Design Director Ian Callum stated that the Project 7 is a low stream, single seater version of an F-Type. He further added that it was something which they as designers and car lovers, doodle and love to do all the time. When Callum saw Cesar Pieri’s sketch of the car, he instantly liked it fell in love with it and pushed the design team to make a production version. In the end, the director says that the car captures the spirit of Jaguar in its very purest form.

As previously reported, the Project 7 comes fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates 550 HP (405 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It is further mated to an eight-speed Quickshift transmission which enables the roadster to achieve the 0-100 kmph (0-62 mph) in just 4.2 seconds and would be able to hit an electronically limited top speed of 300 kmph (186 mph).

The model is pretty exciting and hopefully it should create some buzz during launch.
